Cleaning up fake reviews

Kudos to TripAdvisor for exposing businesses suspected of posting fake reviews. Read the full story from MSNBC.

Everyone wins when consumer reviews are clean and honest:

  1. Publishers thrive when readers trust their sites
  2. Consumers get fair and accurate reviews
  3. Scummy liars who post fake reviews get busted

Folks, we're at an important time in history where we get to decide what the future is like.  We can raise the standards and demand honesty (and punish the cheaters), or we let the blogosphere be full of lies and deception (like our inboxes).

Honest and clean sounds better to me, and I'll keep fighting for it.
