Dear Jeff Bezos: You’re not very good at saying thank you.

We’ve spent $25,000 with Amazon this year. And last year, and the year before that.

At some point, any recognition would be appreciated. Maybe a note from Jeff, or a gold star on my account, or a VIP phone number to call.

We love what we get, and the service is near-perfect. But you still treat us like total strangers. Every time we show up, it’s like we never met.

Sometimes it’s nice to be appreciated.

Andy … if some of that $25k was spent on business books for your conferences and such, sounds like you need to do business with 800ceoread. They will appreciate you. Guaranteed.

(A biased recommendation based upon buying experience with 800ceoread and based upon me being buddy buddy with those responsible for making sure its customers feel recognized/appreciated.)

    Hi John –

I’m also a big fan of 800-CEO-READ and love them for bulk book buys.

Most of our Amazon spending is office supplies, computers — pretty much everything we buy for the business comes from Amazon. We’re very loyal customers – several purchases per week. Maybe only 10% is books.

We do buy a ton of books. All of our employees have a unlimited reimbursement for business book purchases and we subsidize 75% of purchase price of a Kindle.

Wow! You donate twenty-five thousand bucks a year to Amazon? Gosh, I’d expect a pretty big thank-you for that, too. Although I’m surprised you give it to Amazon and not, say, the United Way.

Oh, that was what you spent on *purchases*, not donations?

In that case, it seems like Amazon gave you plenty of perfectly appropriate thank-yous in exchange for your money, and sent them to you in little brown cardboard boxes.

That’s a lot of scratch, Andy. I also order most of my office and business goods on Amazon, including books. I agree that they should have an appreciation program in place.

And while we’re on the subject of Amazon, why such a low affiliate commission (4%)? Give us an incentive to do more. :(

Wow, I agree with both sides of the comments!
