Friends are earned, not bought

WOM craigslist scamFolks, I stumbled on this awful ad on Craigslist — from someone looking to pay for bunch of social media friends. (Yes, there are scum who sell this service.)

But it doesn’t work.

Your friend count may be high. Your boss may be happy.

But none of those people actually friended you because they like you or want to do business with you. They aren’t going to help you.

Paying for social media connections is like hiring 1,000 actors to come make your store look busy. It may look full, but nobody is buying anything. (When real customers realize the scam, the whole thing collapses — and you look like an idiot.)
