Never say never

Canada is phasing out home postal delivery. Why does it matter to you?

Because it’s a great reminder of how radically things can change, and how fast — even when things seem inevitable.

Example: Seven years ago, the iPhone didn’t exist. Now Motorola is a department of Google.

You need to train yourself to expect big, sudden change. It’s an important defensive tactic, and it’s the secret to entrepreneurial opportunity.  My recommendation — read a wide variety of non-fiction, business, and tech, with a healthy scoop of science fiction.

Fun fact: Many of today’s top internet entrepreneurs read the Tom Swift books when they were kids. Who else was writing about videoconferencing in 1913?
