Northwestern is offering a free social media course for entrepreneurs

Their course on social marketing teaches entrepreneurs how to build a social media strategy along with a lot of other important things to know about making money in a digital climate. It’s part of their massive open online courses, or MOOCs, on Coursera.

Of course, since I used to teach word of mouth marketing and integrated marketing communications at Northwestern, this is important to me. But it’s also nice to see universities like Northwestern making education increasingly more accessible.

If you’re interested, the five-course series starts September 15, and covers the following topics and a capstone project:

  1. What Is Social?
  2. The Importance of Listening
  3. Engagement and Nurture Marketing Strategies
  4. Content, Advertising, and Social IMC
  5. The Business of Social
