Smelly markers

imageIt only takes one thing to build a brand — just one great reason to talk.

I bet you have fond memories of Mr. Sketch Scented Markers from childhood. How many other kinds of markers can you name?

  • Mr. Sketch = Fun
  • Sharpie = Permanent
  • Expo = Dry Erase

Big, simple ideas permanently position these brands in our minds. Take note that these are all Newell Rubbermaid brands, but they are careful to keep the unique brand attributes clear and separate.

I love Mr. Sketch markers. It makes getting through boring day long training sessions so much easier when the facilitator brings scented markers.

I remember grape being really yummy :) I didn’t even know they were all under one company. Wow. Talk about individual brand equity! I mean, Sharpie is indispensable! A world without Sharpies. Every skateboarder, teacher, artist will be bummed.
