The kind of review that should go on your home page

My son who is now 21 manages a Rapid Oil Change. I visited him at work one day since he is so busy with school and work that I rarely see him. As we were talking, I looked down at the shoes and noticed his toes were coming through. I asked him why he was wearing shoes that were so worn, and he said he just didn’t have any extra money and knowing that I’m a struggling single mom he didn’t have the heart to ask me for money for new shoes.

My heart sunk and when I arrived at home I immediately went online and searched for a safety shoe. I contacted and spoke with customer service since I was unfamiliar with what type of shoe to purchase. I explained my son’s situation and Zappos went above and beyond to find the right shoe for my son and then had it delivered the very next day free of charge. They followed-up with a phone call to make sure that the shoe arrived and that my son was completely satisfied with the shoe.

I have never had such a wonderful experience with a company like that ever. I tell everyone that I come in contact with to buy from, you will not regret it! Their customer service is amazing and they truly care about their customer and want to see you completely satisfied. My son said that this is the first time after a full day that his feet and back don’t hurt after working all day on his feet. He absolutely loves these shoes and would highly recommend them to anyone who needs a safety shoe and one that is comfortable too!

    Hi Andy – great story. Testimonials are the best form of word of mouth, it goes beyond a recommendation because it is a public endorsement. Advocacy like this can never be captured through 5 stars or a 10 point scale survey. The great thing about social media is it is giving consumers the power to express their brand enthusiasm in the channel of their choosing and the time of their choosing. And more and more consumers are choosing to stand behind their testimonials with authentic identities and share in a visual and engaging manner. Brands have an awesome opportunity to give consumers natural channels to funnel their testimonials, as well as an opportunity to curate and showcase their best brand advocates as you show above.
