Time to move on

Someone sent me a phone book on CD. I'll put it next to my Teletype.

You can make a living milking a dying cow. But you might make more selling hamburgers.

“You can make a living milking a dying cow. But you might make more selling hamburgers.”
The best thing I’ve read all week!
Reminds me of something I read recently: “The old stuff is being broken faster than the new stuff is being put in place.”
What a time to be alive.

Brilliant. I came home the other day to find an actual phone book sitting in front of my door and I had a similar (but uncrystallized) thought.

Yellow pages has on one hand great product (business database) but on the other hand it is a dying cow as you written. YP should supplement their database with content mash with maps for example.

So true. During breakfast today my wife and I noticed that someone drove by and delivered new phone books (yellow pages) to everyone on the street.
WE DON’T WANT THEM! But they’re going to keep trying to force them down our throats as long as they can.
