Why companies should be blogging

A classic from John Moore:

Social Media helps small companies look bigger and helps big companies get smaller.

Meaning, a small company can have a big presence online with customers through using social media. Conversely, a big company can get ‘smaller’ because social media connects companies to customers on a very personal level.

Really enjoyed watching this video, I’m going to have my 14 yr old son watch it so he can incorporate these principles in his lawn mowing business.

Blogging is only effective if you update and stick to it. For many months no-one will read yoour blog additionally very few people even know what an RSS feed is.
Keep blogging only if you have some passion to write – keep blogging for yourself and not only for business marketing. Blogg knowing that very few people will read it.
blogs do work it takes time like all marketing efforts

I am a big fan of this. Companies should be blogging because it connects them to their customers on a much more personal level. BUT…companies shouldn’t be blogging ads about themselves or blogging just to blog and improve SEO. They should blog because they have something to write about. Content is the most important part of blogging…if you have nothing interesting to say, no one is going to read it.
