Why there are so many social media experts

Being an expert on social media is like being an expert on a sport.

If you want to be a football expert, all you have to do is read, watch the games, and talk to a lot of people about it. There are bars you can go to and talk with other experts. All the information you need is easily available. It doesn’t take too long before you can talk convincingly about the topic.

But following the game doesn’t mean you can play the game.

(Make sure the next expert you hire is as good on the field as in the bleachers.)
