The last few months at SocialMedia.org and WordofMouth.org have been amazing, but I need a break. While I’m on vacation this week, I’m sharing a few classic posts with you. This one is from February of 2011:
An empty box shows up via UPS. Inside is a map from my house to the nearest Goodwill donation center.
This simple, elegant, inexpensive campaign was so remarkable that I told everyone I saw, for weeks. I showed the box to everyone who came to my office.
Which is the whole point of word of mouth marketing: Give people a reason to talk about you.
And that doesn’t take a big budget, a gimmicky street team, or some “experiential marketing” program.
You just need one great reason to talk.
