Missing the point

I just bought a new laptop. During the registration process, they asked me the magic Net Promoter question: "How likely are you to recommend this product …"

How the heck should I know? I just turned it on 5 minutes ago. 

This is a good question to ask … after the customer has had a chance to use the product.
