Aha! #4: Great Ideas from Ken Kaplan of Intel

We hosted a cool event last October called BlogWell: How Big Businesses Use Social Media. Some amazingly great ideas  were shared by some very large companies, and I wanted to share them with you.

We're doing it again on January 22 in Chicago. Hear social media case studies from Allstate, H&R Block, The Home Depot, Mayo Clinic, Procter & Gamble, Walmart, Sharpie and the U.S. Coast Guard. Learn more.

Ken's big idea: You find pools of knowledge and talent where you wouldn't expect it.

Ken Kaplan talked about Intel has managed social media adoption within its company.  Remember, Intel has 80,000 employees in over 100 countries worldwide, so this is no small undertaking!  He pointed out that "talent bubbles up" — pools of talent and knowledge are often found where you least expect it.  He also highlighted the importance of matching online engagement with offline meetups, with one big example coming at Intel's Developer Forum.
